While there are unfortunately no campgrounds in Ecola State Park, camping near Ecola State Park is a great option to consider. Not only does camping give you low-cost access to Ecola State Park and some of the many things to do, it also puts you in close proximity to other great spots, such as Haystack Rock, Oswald West State Park or some of the many coastal towns like Seaside, OR.

CAMPING NEAR ECOLA STATE PARK: OVERVIEW
As mentioned earlier, there are no campgrounds inside Ecola State Park. Rather there are four nearby campgrounds that are worth considering: Nehalem Bay State Park Campground, Cannon Beach RV Resort, Wright’s for Camping and the Sea Ranch RV Park.
All are within a short driving distance from Cannon Beach and Ecola State Park and offer a variety of amenities.
This area of Oregon is extremely popular, so it’s highly advisable to get reservations well in advance of your visit. If you can plan ahead by 6 months, then do so and book what you can. That being said, if you need to book last minute, keep your eye out as there are cancelations that happen all the time.
ECOLA STATE PARK CAMPING SUPPLIES
Most of the time when camping in the area of a state park you have to be sure you bring what you need with you. This is a bit of a different story. While some of the campgrounds do have camp stores, groceries and goods are not far away. The city of Cannon Beach, OR is just south of the state park, and the campgrounds are only about a mile away.
In Cannon Beach you’ll have access to groceries as well as most of the supplies that you need. Big box stores are located in Warrenton, OR about 20 miles to the north.

Nehalem Bay State Park Campground
The Nehalem Bay State Park Campground is located approximately 17 miles south of the Cannon Beach / Ecola State Park area. We have a full article written up covering all you need to know about this great place, which you can check out here: Camping in Nehalem Bay State Park.
Cannon Beach RV Resort
- Location: The Cannon Beach RV Resort is located only about 2 miles south of Ecola State Park, on the east side of Cannon Beach. Directions from Ecola State Park to Cannon Beach RV Resort.
- Accessible via: Car.
- Reservations: Offered year-round. Cannon Beach RV Resort Reservations.
- Capacity: 99 sites.
- Electricity / Water Hookups / Dump Station: Yes / Yes / Yes.
- Toilets / Showers: Flush toilets and showers.
- Nearby: Cannon Beach RV Resort is only about ½ mile from the beach. It is possible to walk there, but you do have to pass under Highway 101 on a street. The main town is right nearby, and pretty much anything is within a mile walk, making this campground a great place to access the recreational facilities in Cannon Beach. In addition to all that Cannon Beach has to offer, the campground is also right near the Ecola Creek Forest Reserve to the east. In here there are several trails, including the Forest Loop Trail which is a nice hike.
- Additional details: The Cannon Beach RV Resort is exclusively for Recreational Vehicles. No tent camping is allowed. Most lots are level, paved and with some shade and grass. Wright’s for Camping
- Location: Wright’s for Camping is located just south of the Cannon Beach RV Resort on the east side of the town of Cannon Beach. It is only about 2 miles from Ecola State Park. Directions from Ecola State Park to Wright's for Camping.
- Accessible via: Car.
- Reservations: Offered late-May through mid-September. Wright's for Camping Reservations.
- Capacity: 22 sites, exclusively built for tents but some RVs are accepted.
- Electricity / Water Hookups / Dump Station: No / No / No.
- Toilets / Showers: Flush toilets and showers.
- Nearby: Similar to the Cannon Beach RV Resort, the main attraction of this park is its proximity to the town of Cannon Beach and the fact that it is walking distance from the beach (about ½ mile). The campground is only about 0.25 miles from hiking in the Elk Creek Forest Reserve as well.
- Additional details: Wright’s for Camping is a small alternative to the other locations that are in the area. It has been around since 1959, but the facilities are rustic. The sites are spacious, wooded and do offer privacy. Click here for further information on Wright's for Camping.
Sea Ranch RV Park
- Location: Sea Ranch RV Park is located on 415 Fir Street in Cannon Beach, OR.
- Accessible via: Car.
- Reservations: Offered year-round. Sea Ranch RV Park Camping Reservations.
- Capacity: 65 RV sites and 12 tent sites.
- Electricity / Water Hookups / Dump Station: Yes / Yes / Yes.
- Toilets / Showers: Flush toilets and showers.
- Nearby: Sea Ranch RV Park is nearby Cannon Beach, OR.
- Additional details: Each site includes a fire pit as well as a picnic table. This campground is known for the fact that it’s easy to walk to Cannon Beach and that the sites are all well maintained and level.
